Kadapa Ultra Mega Solar Park located in Andhra Pradesh is spread over approx. 25 square kms. This has been one of Mahindra Susten’s largest commissioned projects thus far and is being implemented jointly in association with Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation Private Limited (APSPCL), a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation, and the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd.
Mahindra Susten has executed 200 MW of the 250 MW capacity commissioned. This was achieved within 6 months of groundbreaking, and that too on rough, rocky and difficult terrain. Huge volumes of boulders were removed to create a usable area for the plant. The plant employed local labor and machinery wherever possible, giving employment opportunities to the local villagers and businesses.
The 250 MW plant will help displace approx. 275.6 million metric tons of CO2 every year, that would’ve otherwise gone into the atmosphere and contributed to climate change.
This project is a huge milestone for Mahindra Susten, and proof that #SolarIsPossibleEverywhere
