The Covid-19 virus has gripped the entire nation and pushed it into a state of temporary paralysis. Most parts of the country are facing a shut down due to which the movement and supply of essentials like vegetables, fruits, grains, largely farm produce isn’t reaching maximum population. In such conditions, several poor locals and migrants surviving on daily wages, are struggling to make ends meet.
Mahindra Susten, as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative, decided to help the weaker sections of society by providing them basic food essentials. A team of volunteers from our site offices and head office distributed food rations, groceries, and even PPE Kits to help keep essential workers safe. Up to 2000 beneficiaries in MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region) were targeted to receive the relief kit. The relief kits comprised of rice, wheat atta, tur dal, turmeric powder, chilli powder, cooking oil and salt. Laborers, maids, security staff, and many others were the key beneficiaries. Apart from MMR, distribution took place in Kadapa, AP, and other states.
Contributions were made not only from the CSR budget of the company but many Susten employees and other stakeholders came together to donate to the cause. These funds were donated to the Mahindra Foundation and the PM cares Fund.
Mahindra Susten applauds and salutes the efforts of all the #CovidWarriors who have stepped up and are on the front lines, fighting for our safety.
