Mahindra Susten is the 'Cleantech' arm of the Mahindra & Mahindra group and offers diversified services within the renewables space. Mahindra Susten is Powering green energy to the nation since 2010. During the last decade Mahindra Susten has developed the projects of size 4.2 GWp+ including self-development of IPP projects of size 1.54 GWp+ across India.

In FY24, Mahindra Sutsen has win 2 nos. projects of total capacity of 300 MWac with GUVNL and RUVNL. Susten has vision to expand its footprints and market share in India’s renewable energy space as an IPP and self EPC by 5x in coming years.

OTPP (Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan) invested as a strategic partner in Mahindra Susten, which will accelerate the expansion of Susten renewable asset platform. Both the partners are aligned to grow the Susten portfolio to +7 GWp and have committed to develop projects involving latest technology i.e. Wind, Hybrid, Integrated Power Storage, RTC etc.

Since incorporation of Mahindra Susten in 2010, Mahindra Susten is first mover in adopting advanced technologies in renewables and developed the projects of mega size’s including one of the largest bifacial module plant in operation and India first integrated town project at Modhera with battery size of 19 MWh. 

Position Synopsis:

End-to-end procurement of Civil & Electrical Services, within parameters of targeted cost, quality, safety and time, as directed by Contract Lead and in conjunction with Design, Supply Procurement, Construction & Legal for utility scale solar & wind power projects.

The ideal candidate has strong practical and application experience in contract management in energy sector, knowledge and understanding of contracts and legal terms, solid business ethics, coupled with a strong commercial orientation and communication skills.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Guidance to Team on Tender document / RFQ for Electrical work packages majority into Pile foundation, Wind Turbine Foundation, Roads, Drains, Control Rooms and preferred to have experience into ITC of AC & DC works, Transmission Line, MCR, Switchyard & Substations electrical installations.
• Detailing of scope including BOQ, T&C, methodology.
• Preparation of Contract Strategy 
• Strong Contractor Network / Vendor Database
• Identifications/Evaluations of contractor in conjunction with projects, quality & safety team. 
• Expertise in rate analysis & Price Negotiations considering local material and machinery rates, productivity analysis. Conduct market rates benchmarking.
• Contractual terms & conditions covering scope clarity, method, specification, compliance, legal, delivery, safety, quality, sustainability, Anti bribery clauses and general conditions of contract.
• Conduct Techno commercial comparison & prepare WO/PO in SAP.
• Capable to work in process oriented environment with high level of integrity. 
• Budget vs actual tracking of order values and contractor progress monitoring.
• Risk identifications & mitigations.
• Manage resources as & when required as per project requirements, ability to handle post contract award issues.
• Timely closure of contracts to meet the project timelines.
• Contract administrations, arbitration, claim & dispute settlement.  Generate and Maintain records for applying for Extension of Time and the ability to justify/defend the same.
• Maintain contract completion timelines and prepare Contract Time extensions and amendments with reasonable justifications.
• Support to Proposal on commercials & Project Team on project resource requirements.
• Keep a regular watch on possible claims. Identifying, informing, quantifying, generating records for the same and ensure their fructification.
• Experience/Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.
• Prepare and maintain Audit documents.
• Maintain contractor performance reports & ratings.

Experience

A seasoned ElectricalEngineer with a BE/B.Tech degree and 12-15 years of expertise in the renewable energy sector, specifically in solar, wind, or energy storage. Proficient in managing Civil packages, and knowledge/experience in handling electrical packages encompassing AC and DC works, Inverter, transformer, HT and LT panel installation work, Earthing works, SCADA works and electrical testing & commissioning. Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 3-5 years of on-site execution experience in Solar or Wind projects.

Education Qualification / Additional Certifications

• BE/B Tech from renowned university in Electrical Engineering Discipline.
• FIDIC certifications would be added advantage.
• Preferably Contract & Procurement Management Certifications (CPCM) or Project Management Certification.
• Preferred Six Sigma certified.

• Provide cost effective inputs to proposal, design and construction team.
