Mr. Deepak Thakur is the Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Susten, the Mahindra Group's flagship entity in the Renewables domain. With his visionary leadership and extensive industry experience, Deepak plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of Mahindra Susten, driving the company's growth, and positioning it as a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions.

Deepak's professional journey spans over three decades, during which he has held key leadership positions in renowned organizations. His expertise lies in enhancing organizational capabilities through strategic investments and collaborations and building cohesive teams to deliver sustainable growth. Deepak has successfully handled various responsibilities encompassing sales, marketing, corporate strategy, business planning, project management and strategic alliances across a wide spectrum of industries comprising energy, industrial equipment, electronics, and infrastructure.

Prior to his role at Mahindra Susten, Deepak served as EVP, Renewables & Energy Storage, at the Reliance Group. He played a pivotal role in developing the strategy for the New Energy vertical and actively participated in M&A transactions within this domain. Prior to this, as CEO at Sterling and Wilson, Deepak was responsible for the Hybrid and Energy Storage Business, as well as the Group's Wind EPC and e-mobility verticals.

During his tenure at Thermax, Deepak led the company's foray into the solar domain, overseeing technology partnerships and collaborations, recruitment and retention of top talent, and the development of various business units and their operating plans. Under his leadership, Thermax consolidated its solar thermal portfolio and became the largest installer of off-grid solar thermal systems globally. He also spearheaded Thermax's expansion into the PV rooftop EPC space, positioning the company among the top three players in the country.

Deepak holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Pune, India, and is an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. His deep understanding of the Indian renewables domain with over a decade and half, experience along with his strategic mindset for accelerated business growth and enhanced profitability, will enable him lead Mahindra Susten to deliver on its purpose of re-imaging clean energy and enriching lives, always ensuring it develops cutting-edge solutions in the renewable energy sector.
