Engineer/ Sr. Engineer - HSE

Job Purpose

Ensuring Solar O&M Health, Safety & Environment at all sites of Mahindra Susten Pvt. Ltd.

Role and Responsibility:

Safety Management :

  • Involvement in review of the OHS policy annually or whenever required
  • Periodic review of the health and safety performance against set goals and objectives
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety statutory regulations
  • Ensure implementation of the MSPL HSE Manual to achieve its health and safety objectives
  • Maintain and continually upgrade health and safety standards at the all O&M Sites.
  • Conduct risk assessments, HSE audits / inspections at prescribed frequency and take all remedial measures to mitigate fire and safety hazards
  • Define roles and responsibilities of employees in the safety organization of the sites.
  • Keep employees informed, educated, trained and retrained on health and safety to ensure safe conduct of their jobs.
  • Encourage employee consultation to promote safety and building a safe work culture.
  • Ensure that each and every employee including contractors and visitors comply with all safety rules and regulations framed for the MSPL Sites.
  • Implement Behavior Based Safety Program at all O&M sites.

Safety Management :

  • Ensure Safety of the employees during use of work equipment such as machinery in motion, dangerous machines, self-acting machines, casing of new machinery and revolving machinery
  • Ensure that all employees and contractor’s worker are aware about work permit system and are trained.
  • Arrange access equipment to work at height/ confined space
  • Ensure material safety data sheet for all chemicals available in project sites and train all employees on MSDS.
  • Control the exposure of persons and the environment to substance hazardous to health, to prevent injury, illness or damage
  • Ensure that there are procedures in place for the examination, inspection, maintenance and safe operation of all mobile (manual and self-propelled) equipment.
  • Ensure that adequate controls are in place for the correct provision and use of personal protective equipment to assist in the prevention of injury.

Fire Control System:

  • Identify the hazard and risks for fire within the site premises and control them with appropriate measures.
  • Ensure that documented procedures and effective systems are in place for safe evacuation of people in the event of a fire.
  • Establish systems and procedures for dealing with emergency situations.

MEASUREMENT AND CONTROL SYSTEMS:

  • Reporting system for incidents is to capture all unintended / unplanned events that have resulted in losses or have the potential to do so
  • Ensure that all incidents including near misses and damages are investigated to prevent their re-occurrence.
  • Ensure that safety statistics are maintained to measure the safety performance of the organization.

Educational Qualification

Auditor Certification in EMS 14001:2015 & OHSAS 18001:2007 (internal or Lead auditor) is highly preferred

Mahindra Group has recently forayed in EPC business in the “Cleantech” space through turnkey PV Solar installations and has already become one of the top EPC companies in this domain within 2 years of on ground execution. Job Summary

The Incumbent will assume responsibility for development, management, and maintenance of all main contracts and subcontracts of MSPL. The Contracts Manager will play a major role in this effort by ensuring that contractual arrangements with clients are clear, economical, and efficient and that the tasks necessary to maintain contracts and strong client relationships are performed with expedience and diligence. To be successful in this role, the chosen candidate will have significant experience in international contract management, along with exposure to or experience of international Project Management. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, and significant experience in negotiating with stakeholders and suppliers, is required


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for all project contractual activities from Hand Over from BD/Proposal Group until all relevant contractual obligations are complete and all relevant contractual issues are resolved/settled.
  • Oversee major functions of contract management, including drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution in liaison with BD, Finance and Legal Team.
  • Identification of Customer/Consortium and other third party obligations and development and implementation of the Project Contract Commercial Plan, including Project Claim Strategy.

SCOPE OF THE JOB ROLE:

  • The Candidate should be capable of Coordination/Inspection and Execution of Plumbing, Firefighting and other related PHE works at sites & ensuring processes. He should take care of overall execution activities, material management, manpower management of contractors and maintenance of Plumbing, Firefighting and other related PHE works at site.

JOB DESCRIPTION (ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Coordination with contractors for Plumbing, Firefighting and other related PHE work
  • Co-ordinating with the project incharge and contractor's team during execution phase and getting work done as per planned schedule
  • Maintaining records pertaining to Plumbing, Firefighting and other related PHE system drawing and documentations.
  • Co-ordinating with contractor's team for requirement of material at site and informing the same to project incharge
  • Handling the material received at site and assisting stores to Issue right material to contractors as per requirement and specifications
  • Ensuring proper and right material is used by contractor as per project specifications with minimum waste
  • Reconciliation of free issued items to contractors and verification of the in-stalled quantities. Reconciliation of materials and works executed during the month along with contractor team and report the same to project incharge.
  • Assisting Project incharge for quantification of work done in terms of measurements. Checking the measurements of contractors.
  • Ensuring safety norms and other statutory provisions during construction phase (including that by the contractor)

Organization Capability:

  • Experience in project execution in Industrial, Real State, Infra, etc. . Ability to un-derstand, read and interpret specifications, drawings & instructions. Organize and coordinate with contractors.
  • Able to demonstrate having worked on large scale projects from concept to completion. Team player, plan effectively and deliver projects on time, with quality and as per specifications with minimal wastage.

Qualification:

  • Diploma Electrical/Mechanical from a reputed Engineering college or I.T.I from reputed institute.

Work Experience:

  • 6 to 8 years in Project Execution of Plumbing, Firefighting and other related PHE services
